George Herman “Babe” Ruth stood at home plate, ready to hit. It was the fifth inning of game 5 of the 1932 World Series. The New York Yankees were playing the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The game was tied at 4-4.
Ruth held his bat out and defiantly pointed directly to the center field bleachers.

This home run was the crowning achievement of the series, as Babe’s New York Yankees defeated the Chicago Cubs in four straight games to clinch the 1932 World Series championship.
