Ahhh… The question we sometime wish we could ask our clients. How are you going to pay for it?
Watto, the junk dealer in Star Wars Episode 1 (or movie #4), asked the same question of Qui Gon Jinn; “How’s-a you gonna pay for all this, eh?”
This question is also going to be asked around the world when Disney opens its’ new Star Wars themed hotel, The Galactic Starcruiser; Halcyon.
This is Disney’s newest, boldest and, in my opinion, coolest experience ever built. And for 2.5 days, you will be completely immersed in all things Star Wars.
But you can’t use Republic Credits. Disney only takes cash or credit card. The 2 night stay for a family of 4 is $5999.
What do you get for your six large? (Which BTW is 10x my first car)
For starters, you’ll get accommodations in one of the three cabin types—Standard Cabin, Galaxy Class Suite, and Grand Captain’s Suite.
Your stay includes select meals and a day’s admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to visit Galaxy’s Edge.
Most of the action happens aboard the Galactic Starcruiser, where you’ll get to take part in cool activities like:
- Sabacc lessons and tournaments
- Live music and entertainment
- Lightsaber training
- Droid racing
- Model shipbuilding
- Bridge training
What does one wear when on a space ship? Disney has you covered there as well. Even though the Galactic Starcruiser takes you deep into the many worlds of Star Wars, you’re still in Florida. And what that means, among other things, is that you’ll need to dress like you’re in Florida.
Priority two, however, is showing off how much you love Star Wars. Whether that’s branded T-shirts or donning the Sith cloak robe you scooped up last time you visited Galaxy’s Edge, be loud and proud about your love of Star Wars.
Here’s what Disney recommends you bring to wear for your trip aboard the Star Wars: Galaxy Starcruiser.
- Attire from the Star Wars galaxy like robes, costumes, etc.
- Jeans/pants/shorts (yes, these are absolutely necessary despite what the last several months have taught us)
- Sunglasses, T-shirts, Light jacket like a raincoat or windbreaker, Sweatshirt, hoodie, or sweater in case things get chilly, Sundresses
- Comfortable walking shoes, sneakers, or sandals
Disney curiously doesn’t include underwear on the list, but hey, the Galaxy Starcruiser is a no judgment zone. Do as thou wilt.
As George Lucas famously told Carrie Fisher while filming the first movie “There are no bra’s in space”
If you think I am trying to sell you a trip to Disney, you would be wrong… This time. My boot camp to Walt Disney World next month is OVER SOLD.
What I am selling you is the idea that in order to command the highest prices, you must provide an incredible experience for your clients. Preferably one that is fully immersive, where the outside world ceases to exist and your clients can only see you, you and you.
This can be done in your office or store or online. Makes no difference.
What can you do to make yourself exclusive? Create something that no other company in your industry can do.
Disney does not sell Gummie Bears. They sell Goofy Gummies. How much do Goofy Gummies cost? About 2.5x regular gummies. Where can you get them? Only at Disney.
DSNi Inner Circle Member Allen Eshmoili has done a masterful job with this in his Physical Therapy business, creating an Apples to Oranges chart for prospects that shows he is THE ONLY therapist in his area offering exclusive services.
What can you do in your niche / town that will make you a one of a kind experience?
