After successfully disrupting online shopping, convenience stores, bookstores, grocery stores and more, Amazon has its eyes set on a new target: department stores.
Does anyone see the irony here? Amazon completely devastates and obliterates bricks-n-mortar-main-street businesses and now is becoming one.
We all should have seen this coming. They own Whole Foods and have mini-stores in airports and malls across the country, so this is not exactly a new idea for them..
So for any of you who think in-person shopping is dead, think again.
And if you think that “Amazon will never hurt me”, you can kiss your sweet Goofy butt goodbye. Putting your head in the sand and pretending they don’t exist or won’t affect your industry, think again.
A quick search on line for:
- carpet cleaning,
- shampoo,
- back pain,
- entertainment
- locksmith
- flowers
- vitamins
revealed Amazon’s omnipresence. They were on the first page of every search.
But what if you could turn the tables on Amazon….
Beat them at their own game….
Did you know that Amazon is the 3rd largest search engine in the world? Only Google & YouTube beat it (YouTube is owned by Google).
Are you listed in that that search engine?
As I have mentioned before, relying on just one or two ways to generate leads can have devastating effects on your business. What if you only used Google Adwords for lead gen and Google changes the rules (again) on you? Your lead source just went out the window.
You need to have multiple lead generation campaigns running ALL of the time, so that if one of them craps out, you may have a dip in business, but devastatingly so.
Getting listed on the Amazon search engine must be a top priority for you. In my message to you earlier this week, I told you why Amazon is far superior to Google as a search engine.
