A mastermind could be just what your business needs...
If I am going to talk about the power of masterminds, I have to start with Napolean Hill. Because he was the one who really started this whole thing back in 1937. He wrote a book titled Think & Grow Rich, which you should read if your are serious about being an entrepreneur and business owner.
Here is his definition of a mastermind:
The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony. Now two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind (the mastermind).
Leaving aside the slightly woo-wooy aspect of the second line, he is right. A mastermind is all about the whole being more than a sum of the parts and, in fact, although Hill formally introduced the idea of the mastermind alliance way back when, the idea was much older than him.
Masterminds are extremely powerful - which is why you would be Goofy, Dopey or a mindless idiot not to consider starting or joining one yourself. Personally I am in 3 different masterminds
Look, let me give you a few examples of the kind of people who join and run masterminds, and you will see what I mean.
Ever heard of
Nine Old Men? No? Well, if you have seen any of the older Disney movies (from the 1930's to the 60's) chances are they came from the
Nine Old Men - a mastermind group of animators. They were responsible for Snow White, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty etc. etc. etc.
Regardless of how you feel about sickly sweet Disney movies, you can't deny they dominate the world upon each of their releases. More that 80 years later, they are still some of the most loved movies in a galaxy far far away.
Very Powerful.
How about
the Junto? 12 members brought together by Ben Franklin. They established the first American lending library. (Side note: sadly this access to vast sums of knowledge does not seem to have had any effect on most of our population)
The Elders: Richard Branson and his close friend, Peter Gabriel, had an idea about the need for a new leadership model for our ‘global village’.
Founded in 2007 with the support of Virgin Unite and a great group of partners, The Elders convened visionary leaders including Graça Machel, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Kofi Annan and President Carter, who work together for peace and human rights.
They get a crapload more done than governments, precisely because they are NOT governments. They WORK towards a common purpose.
Work.
To get shiznat done.
Period.
And they are elite.
And you join
elite groups to tap into a rare form of collective wisdom.
Given that the world is becoming increasingly connected, exponential and accelerated, WHO you know matters far more than WHAT.
This has always been true, but even more so these days.

ou join a group for who is NOT in the room, as much as you do for who is IN the room".
Counter-intuitive? Yep. But it makes sense.
You go into a room to separate yourself from the masses - seeking perspectives that are not typically available or considered. You DO get into rooms where particular people are playing the game of life in a particular way.
