On June 20, 1975, Jaws, a film that made countless viewers (me included) afraid to go into the water, opens in theaters. The story of a great white shark that terrorizes a New England resort town became an instant blockbuster and the highest-grossing film in movie history until it was bested by 1977’s Star Wars.
June 20th, 2023: Surgeons in Sri Lanka removed a record 5.26-inch-long, 1.76-pound kidney stone. Or, in my preferred terms, one-tenth as tall as Danny DeVito and one-third as heavy as the average Chihuahua.
