“You sell too much stuff in your emails and that is why I am leaving” was a reply I got to this mornings email. “You constantly try to manipulate my emotions to get us to buy things“.
Well, geez…
Pfui!
Here is what I BELIEVE
If you truly believe that your product or service is the best solution available, then it is your duty and your moral obligation to sell it to your clients or patients.
Usually when I teach this, someone vehemently objects and tells me how awful and manipulative it is.
A moral obligation
Definition: “An obligation arising out of considerations of right and wrong. “he did it out of a feeling of moral obligation” type of: duty, obligation, responsibility. the social force that binds you to the courses of action demanded by that force.”
If you are that professional who is stuck inside your own head, consider this: If there is someone in your community for whom you would be the perfect copywriter/doctor/lawyer/carpet cleaner, etc. and who would be a great client/patient for you, then it is your MORAL OBLIGATION to direct them to your service or product and not let them fall prey to someone who is less qualified for their situation than you.
If you don’t believe that, then just move on; you don’t deserve anything from the marketplace.
Let me address the moral issue I brought up at the beginning; namely, the use of manipulating someone’s emotions to make a sale, by asking you three questions:
- Do you sell a product or service that TRULY helps people?
- If you are in front of an audience who could REALLY benefit from your product, do you feel they should have it?
- Do you feel that you are the BEST person to provide that product or service to people who truly need it?
If you answered “yes” to all three questions then you have an OBLIGATION to do all you can to help your audience buy your product or service. In most cases, it is a MORAL obligation.
And why do I BELIEVE that my products and services will help people?
For the simple reason that they have all helped me.
I will never offer you a product or service that I have not personally tested or used in one of my businesses. You will hear either:
a. It worked and here is why or b. It didn’t work for me but it might work for you. This happens a lot with marketing strategies and tactics.
Do I think that the Dan Kennedy Search Engine is one of the best resource tools to come around in recent memory? YES I DO
Is it for everyone? Certainly not.
It is for you if you are serious about building your business, are a serious student of marketing and desire to have another counselor for your business. You can get it here: https://gkic.isrefer.com/go/mmse/a6121/
Remember, the difference between manipulation and persuasion is intent.
