Last year, an idiot attempted to become a “Disney Cyborg” by having a chip meant to duplicate the functions of a MagicBand implanted in his arm.
Lee Majors (Google him if you must) is certainly having a good laugh about it.
Though this guy was unable to to make his bionic arm work, he did talk to another nitwit who had a chip created from a pre-existing MagicBand surgically implanted in her arm and was successfully able to use it as a MagicBand.
Neither of these people should be allowed to procreate. Their bloodlines need to stop.
In response to these simpletons, Disney decided to add a label to MagicBand boxes warning users not to do this, lest there be more dunces out there.
As an aside, Disney is furious that they did not think of it first.
But there is a VERY important lesson here for your business.
Do you create fanatics who rave about your business and are willing to self-mutilate?
While that may be extreme, this is the effect Disney has on its fans.
Alright, let’s take it down a few notches…
- Do you have clients / patients who are your raving fans?
- Will they stand up for you on social media?
- Defend you when you are not around?
- Tell their friends and neighbors “You MUST go see this guy or gal”.
In order to compete in this, or any, economy, you must have clients that are your evangelists.
Or at a minimum, when a patient / client leaves your office or website, do they feel compelled to go up to the very next person they see and say “You will never guess what happened at the auto mechanic today!”
You see, this is the very basis of a strong referral system.
If your customers are not sufficiently wowed by your service or product, they won’t tell anyone. Which means they probably won’t refer.
What can you do today, maybe for just one client, that will ensure they will leave your place of business and tell a friend or family member, You will never guess what happened at….
Do it today.
